Alan Howes

Pastor 

Alan became the pastor at Emmanuel in February 2026. He was converted to Christ in 1992 and had a burning desire from the beginning to serve the Lord and His Church.

 

Alanhas been married to Lindsay for 26 years and they have 3 children, Gabriella, Leila and Nathanael. Alan has a degree in Theology and has served in Church in many ways for the last 30 years.

 

He enjoys gardening, watching sport especially snooker and spending time with family. After the life changing accident of their son Nathanael, Alan and Lindsay felt led to create a web page to help them move forward in their suffering and to offer support and hope for others. Byron Jones

Leader

Byron was born and raised in the South Wales valleys. He served two years National Service. He came into a personal relationship with Jesus in his 30’s and studied Theology and Pastoral ministry at South Wales Baptist College.

 

He has served in many Eldership roles such as Associate Pastor, Minister of Calvary Baptist Church in Canton, Cardiff for over 10 years, Elder of The Countess of Huntingdon’s New Connection for 15 years and as a recognised Speaker with Prophet Witness International. Byron has travelled extensively in itinerant Ministry speaking at conferences, Christian groups and local churches, on the prophetic scriptures teaching on the End-Times in the USA, India, Scotland, Isle of Wight and all over the UK.

 

In 2022, Byron moved to Norfolk following the death of his first wife, and has since been a member of Emmanuel Church. He and his wife Trish serve in all areas of the Church.   Byron has 3 adult children and 4 grand-children.  He enjoys reading, particularly history and biographies, Painting, gardening and building sheds.

Liz Goddard

Leader

Liz was blessed to be brought up by christian parents but made her own profession of faith as a young child following a Summer Tent Mission and cannot imagine living life without knowing Jesus.

 

She has been part of Emmanuel church for almost 30 years. Married to Phil, they have two grown up children and one son in law who they love to visit.

 

Liz works part – time for a local charity and loves spending time exploring the countryside

Di Scott

Leader

Di came to faith in Jesus in 1998 and was baptised at the Baptist Church in Aylsham

She has been a member of Emmanuel Church since 1990 along with her husband Phil. Di and Phil have two children, Niall and Helen, and 6 grandchildren. Phil’s family are in New Zealand and Australia, so they are frequent travellers!

​

Di Leads two Guide units giving young people lots of adventures, helping them mature, learn new skills and care for each other and play a part in our community.

As a Trustee and Leadership team member of Emmanuel Church, her role is Treasurer/Administrator. Together with Phil they maintain the building to keep it open and welcoming to all who may wish to come in.  Di is always here to help.

Helen Daniels

Leader

Helen became a Christian at a youth camp in Derbyshire where she grew up, having attended a Methodist Sunday School as a child. During her nurse training, she attended a large evangelical church in Norwich for over 10 years before becoming part of the Emmanuel family.

 

Helen has been a member since 1998, and on the leadership since 2021. Her particular responsibilities within the church currently are Safeguarding, Disability Inclusion, and preparing the preaching rota. She is passionate about seeking the Lord and making Him known. 

 

During her working life, Helen spent 27 years nursing children with disabilities, both in a residential and community setting. She has been involved with children’s and young people’s work in church and through GirlGuiding. In 2013, Helen felt called to become a foster carer. She fostered Racheal that same year and adopted her five years later.

 

Together with Racheal, Helen enjoys the outdoors, camping, travelling, theatre and craft. Although her name is Helen, many people call her Brock, her childhood nickname!
